The Legend of the Hugenfrogler

Once Upon A Time....

Kandace was a freshman in high school and participated on the drill team. That year, for the novelty dance, Kandace was a frog. Soon her friends started calling her the Hugenfrogler and her true love of frogs began. Kandace realized that her all time favorite fairy tale was that of the Princess and the Frog. Because of this tale, she believes that all boys begin as frogs and someday the right one will become a real live prince!

During Kandace's freshman year of college, she took a photography class. In this class she did a self portrait assignment that needed to show who she really is. She decided to show her expression as she met the frog that would become her prince. Needless to say, she got an A on the assignment.

Recently, Kandace went to Lake Powell and she was dared to kiss a frog. This dare was not even scary. In fact, she kissed the frog 3 times, mostly because she wanted a picture! Sadly, the frog didn't become a prince. Oh well.

On many occasions, frogs have fallen into her window well. She can always tell when it's a frog because she can hear the hops very distinctly. On Sunday, she opened her window to smile at her froggy friend.
Photobucket
Soon she realized that there was another frog. A STUCK FROG!! She screamed and frantically texted her dad to come and rescue the frog. She knew her dad was at church in her family ward, but something had to be done to save this poor creature.

So her dad realized how important the situation was (mostly because of how worried Kandace was getting) and he came to save the frog{s}.

and they all lived

Broken

Warning: This post is slightly embarrassing and may produce laughter-induced tears.

I have been home for just over a month now and I have broken 4 things that are important to me! 4! And one of them was broken in two different ways! Wanna hear the stories? I'll start with the boring ones first...

First of all, I got these really cool sunglasses from American Eagle that folded up and I loved them. Then I snapped them in half on accident

Also, my laptop just wont turn on or charge or anything

(Funny time)

I may or may not have confused Drive with Reverse in my car and may or may not have ran it into a trailer hitch. In my driveway. I also cracked my radiator.

(Super duper funny time)

Last night I flushed my phone down the toilet. Completely flushed. It fell out of my skirt pocket! I broke the toilet and lost my phone! How did I manage that?!

Moral of the story: At the rate I'm going, I might be physically broken by the end of the summer. It's kind of hilarious in a pitiful way!

Music

Yes, I know I just barely posted, but this song is seriously on the top 200 on iTunes right now. I am impressed with the world of music buyers. Definitely one of the most inspiring songs I've ever heard.

Tangled

Sometimes I feel like my life is a Tangled mess.

And then I watch Tangled and I cheer up a bit!

(p.s. my laptop is broken! therefore I haven't been posting much and wont have many photos of my summer adventures until I get it fixed, or buy a new one. Bummer deal eh?)

All Girls Are Princesses!

On Friday night, I finished hangin with my friends and I wasn't tired at all, even though it was midnight-ish. So I decided to watch a movie on Netflix. (Which is the most brilliant invention ever!). I decided on A Little Princess. I had never seen this beautiful movie, but I'm so grateful I did! This movie is about a young girl named Sara and all of her struggles. She had everything taken away from her and was treated so horribly but always knew she was a princess, and that all girls are princesses. She lived her life in such a way that proved she knew of her Divine Nature. She treated all with kindness and she kept a great outlook on life!

Then on Saturday night, I watched my high school's junior prom. (Yes, the whole town attends small town proms.) My dear friend Sydney's little sister won prom queen. Her name is Emily. Emily has had a learning disability her entire life. Although she struggles with some things, she is the sweetest, most positive girl I know. She is always so happy and full of life. She behaves just like a princess and looks like one too! I was so happy for her when she won! She is so beautiful inside out. Just one look at her proves her Divinity.

Photobucket

Like Emily, I had my turn as prom queen back in the day. It's funny though, because so many girls dream up of being the prom queen, of having a chance at royalty, but in all reality it doesn't really matter. What matters is knowing that all girls are princesses no matter what. We are all daughters of our Heavenly Father who loves us ever so much. He wants us to be happy forever and we can achieve that happiness by striving to live righteously everyday.

I was able to spend my weekend with this little princess! Her name is Annalyn and she is my cousin's baby. She happens to be a twin and she is the most precious baby I have ever seen. She is a gift straight from Heaven. Although she can't even walk or talk yet, she is still a princess. Her sweet Spirit radiates to all who see her and I just know that she is going to be absolutely spectacular when she grows up.

After watching Annalyn this weekend, I realized how much potential we each have because of our Divine Nature. As I said before, worldly royalty is a silly thought, what matters most is knowing who you are and where you come from and what you can become. Make sure you strive to live everyday like the princess you are and treat others as royalty as well.

"I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They're still princesses. All of us."
-Sara (From A Little Princess)

Some Awesome Stuff About Sophomore Year

Well I've been home for a week now and still haven't done an epic post about the awesomeness of Sophomore year! I've been having a hard time figuring out what I wanted to say in this post, because I'm pretty sure I didn't learn 101 things like I did my Freshman year, but I did learn a lot. I had a lot of challenges, but it was through those challenges that I discovered who I am, and who I want to become. Instead of focusing on the challenges from the year, I want to focus on the happy things in this post because, well, Kandace is happy!

These are a lot of my friends from this past year, especially from Spring Semester. They were the best ever. They helped me smile, even on the darkest days. We always did the craziest things together and everyday was a good day!
{Yes, I stole these photos from facebook.... but I spruced them up!}

{Erica and Marina are probably the sweetest girls I've ever met! They're both so happy and smile-y! They are a friend to everyone and make everyone feel so special!}

Photobucket

{I love Chelsea and Amy with ALL of my heart. I would not have made it through this year without them as roommates! I am so blessed that I had them as roommates. I was so scared because I didn't know them beforehand, but they ended up being better than anyone I could've picked myself! Love you guys!}

I also need to give a shout out to Zach and Andrew. I fail at having pictures with them, but they win the award of the best big brothers of the year! Seriously.

On top of having some of the best friends in the entire world, I may or may not of dominated my classes.... cou4.0babbbbyyyyygh..... Just sayin.
Hello summer!

I Want

These sandals!
They are called Sseko Sandals.
Sseko Sandals are created by women in Uganda trying to earn money to go to college.
They also all have the same base and you can buy a buttload of different straps (if you have the money) and lace them up differently everyday! Legit huh?

So thinking about these hard working women who would do anything to go to school really made me super grateful for the opportunity to be here at school! I know I'm not as grateful as I should be all the time (sorry guys, but sometimes I'm just too lazy to like homework!) But it really is the best thing ever. I am so blessed to be having such great experiences and learning so much! I've grown so much in the past 2 years and I can't wait to see what the next...2, 3, or 6 (depending on what I end up doing with my life) bring!

So since I did 101 Lessons From the Past 12 Months last year, you guys better be ready for something just as epically awesome as an overview of this school year in a week or so when I'm all done

Bring it Finals!
